On October 15, 2025, Dankmeyer teams up with the University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Institute (UM Rehab) for the final
Amputee Walking School session of the year.
Formally titled Advanced Gait Training for Individuals with Lower Extremity Amputations, the program offers two distinct parts:
- Afternoon (Professionals) — From 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm, rehabilitation professionals gather to dive into the latest strategies and techniques in advanced gait training for individuals with amputation.
- Evening (Community) — Beginning at 4:45 pm, those with lower limb loss or limb difference, along with their families, are welcomed into the gym. Here, participants have the chance to work directly with the pros on exercises designed to improve movement, strength, and confidence.
The event takes place at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute (2200 Kernan Drive, Baltimore, MD), in the Outpatient Therapy Gym on the ground floor.
Dankmeyer and UM Rehab are proud to create an inclusive, supportive environment—open to professionals, individuals with limb loss or limb difference, and their loved ones. It's a fitting way to close out 2025: with education, community, and forward progress for all.
